1000+ SCHOOLS SHUT DOWN IN RIVERS
Nyesome Wike, the governor of Rivers state, has shut down about 1886 school for failing to meet standard. He said
“We have told parents of children at the 1886 schools shut down by the state government to relocate their wards before the commencement of the next academic session.By September, we shall fully implement measures aimed at strengthening the state education sector. We want to maintain a standard that will uplift education in the state".
lamenting about the state of corruption in most schools, he said majority of them have become WAEC magic centers, where majority of the candidates graduate with excellent grades. he said, extra measures have been put in place to curb out that menace.
